Avonmore Celebrates a decade of the ‘Super Cats’
with Special Edition "Black & Amber" Super Milk Pack
To honour one of the most celebrated teams in Irish sport, Avonmore, proud sponsors of the Kilkenny hurling team, are delighted to announce the launch of their new special edition ‘Black and Amber’ Kilkenny 2 litre Super Milk pack!
The ‘Kilkenny Cats’ dominance of the All-Ireland Hurling Championships over the past decade is unparalleled. Since 1999, the team has won 9 Leinster titles, as well as a spectacular 6 All Ireland Senior titles! Last year alone was a particularly momentous one for the ‘Cats’, winning their ‘3 in a row’ All Ireland Hurling Championships. Avonmore has been Kilkenny’s proud sponsor throughout this ‘glorious decade’, and are delighted to acknowledge and celebrate their success with the Special Edition ‘Black and Amber’ Super Milk 2 Litre Carton.
Brian Cody, the longest serving manager of any team in the senior championship, commented on the celebratory carton; ‘The Black and Amber Super Milk carton is a wonderful way to promote county-wide support for the Team in the lead up to an important game like this. We really appreciate Avonmore’s sponsorship and continued enthusiasm in our campaign to retain the Liam McCarthy cup.’
Cody has been crucial in building this highly successful team. Since he took over the reins in June 1999 he set up a backroom support that has been vital to the Cat’s success; from the best in physical trainers to physiotherapy, to nutrition and diet. Brian’s appointment of Noreen Roche (Kilkenny Hurling team nutritionist) signified the importance that Cody places on diet in the performance of his players. Brian commented “Diet and nutrition plays a huge part for our Hurlers performance and Avonmore Super Milk plays a key role in our Hurlers weekly diet!”
