The best source of vitamin D is obtained from exposure to sunlight on the skin which causes the body to produce its own vitamin D. However, when we don’t get enough sunlight, food sources of vitamin D are needed to help us to increase our levels.

Our easy to use Vitamin D calculator, gives you an indication of how close you are to meeting your recommended daily allowance (RDA) for vitamin D from food. The RDA for some groups is based on a range, rather than a single amount, in this case we used the value in the middle of your range to estimate your vitamin D intake from food. The calculator does not account for the vitamin D obtained from the sun or Vitamin D obtained from supplements.
